The Yaki Collection

These Yaki Vases are adapted from the Traditional Japanese method of:

Yakisugi (Yaki meaning Burnt | Sugi meaning Cypress) - the process of intensely burning cypress as a preservative heat treatment.

Using either fir or oak, these vessels have been completely scorched and the char has been brushed away to reveal raised and distinctive grain patterns.

The process is not only satisfying but leaves the pieces with an impressive texture and a beautiful colour.
