The Spalted Collection

Spalted wood is wood that has been infiltrated by fungus, and can occur in many different tree species.

The fungi penetrates between the fibres and creates random patterns of discolouration in the wood. When there’s a variety of different fungi that attack the tree, the effect is a mixture of different patterns and colours. Due to the drying process, the fungi is no longer active in finished pieces.

These modern organic pieces are usually made into classic shapes, in order to let the colour and pattern truly speak for itself.
